Hyper-V is specifically developed for the Windows Server Platform. Windows Server is a commercial product with proprietary code that is not available to other virtualization companies and having access to the entire code base allows Hyper-V developers the ability to develop a superior virtualization platform targeted specifically at Microsofts server product range.

VPS Scalability

Hyper-V as with all VDS products is entirely scalable and can grow with you as your requirements increase. Web24 can take your small instance through to a private cloud solution ensuring that you're not locked into a solution that can no longer service your demand.

OS Choice

We provide a range of standard Windows Operating Systems (Windows 2003 R2 32bit & 64bit, Windows 2008R2 32bit & 64bit), however if your choice is not supported by default then contact us and we'll help you get what you need.

Managed or Unmanaged Service.

A VPS has great flexibility which allows you to configure your server in many ways and as such, the management of a VPS requires basic system administration skills.  Web24 can provide complete management services based upon an hourly rate or monthly management contract and this service can be added to your VPS subscription during signup. Windows VPS's allow you to use MS Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Client to connect to your server and configure it to your requirements. If you wish to use your server primarily to host websites, databases and email then the "PLESK HOSTING VPS" solution may be better suited. Plesk Hosting VPS provides you with an excellent Windows control panel system allowing you to manage multiple hosting services with minimal administrative requirements.

Critical Updates and Patches

All Microsoft OS patches and updates available are applied at the time of VPS provisioning. Unless you have subscribed to a full management service, no further OS patches will be applied by Web24 and you should assume full administrative responsibility for your server.

VPS Backups

All customers that purchase a VPS from Web24 have the option of adding paid management services to their subscriptions.  Our managed backup services provide a daily backup of your VPS to our dedicated backup infrastructure with a 14 day retention period. Unless you have subscribed to a backup service and have an agreement in writing with Web24, VPS backups remain the responsibility of the customer. Good practice suggests that you should also take a copy of your backup offline (downloaded).
