Managed or Unmanaged Service.

A VPS is very flexible and can be configured in many ways to suite many purposes. Basic system administration skills are required to manage a VPS, however if you wish to enjoy the benefits without having to manage the server yourself we can offer this service for you. We can also assist you with basic tasks such as how to firewall your VPS and how to keep your VPS up to date.

Hardware Node Specifications

Web24 only use high-quality industry-recognized server brand hardware. Our hardware nodes' minimum specification is a Dual Intel Xeon X56xx series HEX Core CPU, 72GB - 144GB RAM, 4-8 SAS 15k RPM drives in RAID10 (redundant and very high performing) using redundantly powered dual-PSUs on a gigabit network.

Critical Updates and Patches

All Kernel patches and software updates available are applied at the time of VPS provisioning.

For Xen VPS and VMware VPS: Unless you have subscribed to a full management service, no further OS patches will be applied by Web24 and you should assume full administrative responsibility for your server.

VPS Backups

All customers that purchase a VPS from Web24 have the option of adding paid management services to their subscriptions. Our managed backup services provide a daily backup of your VPS to our dedicated backup infrastructure with a 14 day retention period. Unless you have subscribed to a backup service and have an agreement in writing with Web24, VPS backups remain the responsibility of the customer. Good practice suggests that you should also take a copy of your backup offline (downloaded).
